Depression can feel debilitating at times, draining you of energy, motivation, and pleasure or interest in your life. Whether you’re experiencing depression due to life transitions (such as relationship or family changes, work burnout or stress, grief or loss) or feelings of being disconnected from yourself, I’m here to help.
You might benefit from therapy if you:
I draw from evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, EMDR, and ACT to help you challenge negative thought patterns, reconnect with your values, and process experiences that may be weighing you down. Together, we’ll create space to understand what you’re experiencing, gently address what’s contributing to the depression, and work toward restoring a sense of meaning, energy, and hope.
Common symptoms of depression include:
I address depression using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness-based approaches.
Not all of these modalities will work for every client, but together we’ll explore and identify the tools and strategies that will work best for you.
CBT is typically considered the gold standard for treating depression without medication. However, other modalities such as EMDR, ACT, or DBT can also be useful in presenting different tools and perspectives to address depression symptoms.
No client is the same, so no treatment is the same. I’ll tailor the tools and approach to best fit your needs.
Many clients notice improvement in their depression within the first few months of therapy. However, this can largely be dependent on the root cause of the depression symptoms or other life factors and stressors.
No, I am unable to prescribe medication or help with medication management.
However, if you would like to address depression symptoms in therapy along with taking medication, I can work collaboratively with your other care providers to help treat and reduce symptoms of depression as a team.
